Creating custom directories allows you to tailor how different subsets of Members or Providers are accessed and viewed on your ScaleGrowth platform. This feature is particularly useful if your subscription includes Custom Directory capabilities or if you have a 2-Sided Marketplace enabled. Here’s how you can leverage this feature to enhance user navigation and experience.
Step 1: Define Your Custom Directory
1. Navigate to Your Main Member Directory:
Start by accessing your main Member Directory. This is your starting point for creating a custom directory.
2. Enable the Right Search Filters:
Ensure that you have the appropriate Search Filters enabled. You need filters that will:
- Narrow down the members to include in your Custom Directory.
- Allow end-users to efficiently browse within it.
3. Apply and Save Your Search Filters:
Select and apply a set of Search Filters that will define the membership of your Custom Directory. Once applied, copy the full URL from your browser. Focus on the part after the ?, which includes your custom search filter parameters (referred to as YOUR_CUSTOM_SEARCH_FILTERS_PARAMETERS).
Step 2: Configure Your Custom Directory
- Go to Settings > Configuration > Folders & Custom Menu Items
2. Create a New Directory Entry: Click to add a new entry for your Custom Directory. Ensure that this entry is not set as a Folder.
3. Set the URL for Your Directory:
- For a Custom Member Directory, paste the following into the URL field:
SG::users/p/SLUG/m/dir/?YOUR_CUSTOM_SEARCH_FILTERS_PARAMETERS
- For a Custom Provider Directory, use:
SG::users/p/SLUG/p/dir/?YOUR_CUSTOM_SEARCH_FILTERS_PARAMETERS
4. Choose an Icon or Emoji to represent your new directory visually.
5. Save your changes. Then, navigate to Settings > Configuration > Navigation & Information Architecture to place your new Custom Directory within the navigation menu.
Step 3: Customize and Activate Your Directory
Visit your newly created Custom Directory while in Admin Mode to finalize the access settings for it. Click on the Settings in the top right corner to access specific overrides for this directory.
Modify any settings to better fit the specific needs or user journeys within your network or organization.
