As the technical co-founder of ScaleGrowth, I don't like talking about myself, but our marketing team insisted. Here’s a bit about my journey:
I've spent decades in Silicon Valley, leading top tech teams. Starting as an individual contributor, I became the CTO/CPO of several Unicorns, including two publicly listed companies, and went through three IPOs.
My big claim to fame was running Yelp’s Android and iOS apps when we were a Top 10 App globally – and the largest local search engine in the world. This involved managing a massive user base and developing a sophisticated engagement & personalization engine. Later, as CTO at Redbubble, I led the best team in the world in the challenging task of recommending art – a highly subjective and personal domain, making it one of the hardest fields in AI. At the equivalent role at Indiegogo, we battled with the added complexity of the one-to-many interactions of crowd-funding campaigns – while at MedAdvisor the high-criticality and privacy of the healthcare space.
Long story short, I've been fortunate enough to have been building world-class AI & Data Science driven apps for most of my career. But I’m a hands-on developer at heart, who loves coding and building things more than anything. I'm one of those people where friends will be saying "it's Friday night, let's go out" – and I'm sitting there going "honestly, I much rather keep coding with my army of AI Minions to finish this algorithm"... My co-founder, Anna, can attest :)
We created ScaleGrowth because we believe in AI, like in pizza, quality matters. Sure, it's everywhere, especially these days – but there is a big difference between that slice of heaven you get at that one special place in Napoli vs the piece of cardboard and-I-don't-mean-the-box from your neighborhood fast-food chain.
Top-tier companies like Redbubble, Yelp, and Indiegogo invest heavily in creating hyper-personalized, engaging, and addictive apps – akin to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or LinkedIn home feeds. These kinds of gamified search & recommendation engines are extremely difficult, time-consuming, and expensive to build. Such costs make them accessible only to top tech firms in the world, limiting many deserving businesses and causes from leveraging their immense power.
At ScaleGrowth, our mission is to democratize access to advanced search, personalization & recommendation engines.
