If you want to offer free access to a product, event, or membership using Stripe, you can create a 100% off coupon and enable no-cost orders within your Stripe account. This ensures users can complete the checkout process without entering payment details.
This guide walks you through enabling no-cost orders and setting up a 100% discount coupon in Stripe.
Step 1: Enable “No-cost Orders” in Stripe
- Log in to your Stripe Dashboard.
- Access Settings: Click the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Go to Payments: Under Settings, select Payments.
- Open Checkout & Payment Links: Click on Checkout & Payment Links.
- Enable “No-cost Orders”: Scroll down to find the No-cost Orders setting and toggle it on.
🔒 This setting allows Stripe to process $0 transactions without requiring payment details.
Step 2: Create a 100% Free Coupon Code
- In the Stripe Dashboard, go to the Billing section. If you're using a different layout, look for Coupons under Products.
- Click on New Coupon.
- Configure the Coupon:
- Discount Type: Select Percent off.
- Percentage: Enter 100.
- Duration: Choose between: Once, Multiple months, Forever
Save the coupon.
✅ Your coupon is now active and can be applied during checkout to allow a no-cost transaction.
