AI-generated Personalized Digests for your Members

ScaleGrowth supports 3 types of Digest cadences – Daily, Weekly and Monthly.

Platform Defaults vs User Personalization

As the Platform Admin, you are able to configure content from each Space to be included in either of these cadences.

These are Platform Defaults. What this means is for any user who has not yet gone to set up their personal Email Notification Settings under the Avatar menu in the top right, they will be subscribed to these cadences.

But once someone does go to Email Notification Settings under the Avatar menu and changes their preferences, their personal choices will trump your Platform Defaults. This is just like LinkedIn for example – when you first sign up, you are subscribed to a default set of content notification cadences set by the LinkedIn team – but you can always go and update your personalized preference.

To configure Platform Defaults:

• Enter Admin if you aren't already
• Head to Settings > Configuration
• Go to the Personalization – Digests, Feeds, Recommendations section
• In here, you will see a breakdown of all your content Spaces
• Simply change the drop-downs under the New Content or New Members column

Customizing Digest Email Templates

You can also customize the appearance of you Daily, Weekly and Monthly Digests:

• Enter Admin if you aren't already
• Go to Email > Email Automation > Digest
• In there, you will see 3 different Email Templates for Daily, Weekly or Monthly cadences
• Click on the one you wish to Edit
• Go to the Edit Content tab

• Please note the {{DIGEST_CONTENT}} Personalization Token above
• This is where the AI-generated summary based on your Platform Defaults and each recipient's personalized Email Notification Settings will go
• So make sure you don't accidentally remove this very important token

• We also include a special magic button that lets your recipients to easily forward a Friend Referral Email for their friends to join your platform and subscribe to the Digest
• Of course you can delete if if you don't want this functionality
• You can also customize this button by clicking on it and editing the URL it uses and the Text to display

• But there is a very important trick to it you may notice above
• Since we are encoding the Subject and Body of the Friend Referral Email inside this link, you have to use special code %20 to represent a space and %0A to represent a newline
• Please note that if you enter actual space or newline in here, the magic link will break
• Additionally, you want to avoid using the & character anywhere in the Subject of Body of the Friend Referral Email
• And yes, you can absolutely use our Personalization Tokens inside it – just make sure there is no whitespace around {{ or }}

Content Access Control

FAQ: ScaleGrowth has an extremely powerful Access Control engine based around our User Groups. But how does that work with your Digest content?

The way this works is any given User Account will only receive content updates for Spaces which they are allowed to browse in the first place.

And if there was no new content in the past Digest period (Day, Week, Month) that a given User Account can access – the entire Digest will be skipped for them that Day / Week / Month.

Selecting Recipients or Turning Digests On/Off

Alternatively, you can customize which User Groups receive your Daily, Weekly, or Monthly Digests – or even turn them off all-together. To do this, simply:

• Enter Admin if you aren't already
• Go to Email > Email Automation > Digest
• In there, you will see 3 different Email Templates for Daily, Weekly or Monthly cadences
• Click on the one you wish to Edit
• Head to the Settings tab

Here you can:

Customize which User Groups receive this particular Digest cadence:

• Under the Recipients section, look for Select User Groups
• And optionally, you can apply an exclusion rule on top using Skip the following User Groups

Disable this particular Digest cadence all-together:

• Look for Enable this Email Template and toggle that on/off

❗Warning: be careful with this feature – if you turn a given Digest cadence off, your Members will no longer receive this cadence even if they have opted into it in their personal Email Notification Settings. Similarly, if you restrict a given Digest cadence to only certain User Groups, all other User Accounts will no longer receive it.
