What happens when a No Account user submits a Listing or a piece of content?

About

ScaleGrowth supports users with No Account to be able to post Listings or content if you platform allows it. This FAQ covers what happens with their Account & Listing ownership.

Content

When a No Account user submits a form, there is always a required Email field. Then:

  • If there is already an existing User Account with that Email, this account becomes the Listing Owner (even if the user submitted while logged out).

  • If there is no User Account with that Email, it is indeed created for them and becomes the Listing Owner – but it is not claimed until they go trough the Sign Up flow once to create password and/or verify their email depending on your platform settings.

This means that if the user wants to Edit or Delete their submission afterwards, they do need to go through the Sign Up or Log In with the corresponding Email to do so.

Then, if other users interact with the Listing – for example, if Messaging the Listing Owner is enabled, then any the associated "transactional" Email Automations will work with the corresponding Email as usual.

For Digests and other "non-transactional" communications, if you are using our White-labeled Email feature, ScaleGrowth has a Setting that lets you configure whether unclaimed User Accounts should be included in these. Please submit a Success Center request or contact your ScaleGrowth account manager if you have White-labeled Email and wish to enable this.
