ScaleGrowths allows you to configure very granular Access Controls for Browsing Directory Listings, sending Connection Invites, and Private Direct Messages between members. Let's go over them here:
- Enter Admin if you aren't already
- look for the Directory view in your navigation menu
- one there, click the Settings in the top right
- first, under the main Directory & Search section, look for these settings:
- User Groups who can see the Directory
- and
- User Groups to show in the Directory
These settings control who can browse the Directory and find each other using the Search.
- note also the Show unclaimed preloaded accounts in Directory setting
This is an important setting when you Data Load your existing members into your ScaleGrowth Solution. In that scenario, you have a choice whether their Directory Listings show up right away – or whether they only show up after they Sign Up to claim their new User Accounts.

- in here, you have additional settings:
- User Groups that can initiate Connections with other Members
- and
- User Groups that can receive Connection Invites
These settings control who can initiate Connection Invites and who can receive them. The ScaleGrowth Connections feature is similar to how LinkedIn operates. There is also a dedicated view for My Connections that you can enable for all your members – look for it in the navigation.
- note also the Allow unclaimed preloaded Member accounts to Be Contacted setting
This is another important setting for when you Data Load your existing members into your ScaleGrowth Solution. It works similar to the Show unclaimed preloaded accounts in Directory one – but this time, it controls whether the members can be connected.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please keep in mind that the Connections and Messages related settings will also affect the Micro-Pages for your users. So, even if you have the Directory view disabled or restricted, members can find each other's Micro-Pages by clicking on Post Authors or Listing Owners through-out the ScaleGrowth Solution.
