Sometimes, you have a Drip Campaign you have created using our Email Templates, and you want to pause it.
Let’s say you have an example Drip Campaign of 5 Steps:
- Email 1 – Immediate upon Trigger Event X
- Email 2 – 7 Days Delay form Trigger Event X
- Email 3 – 14 Days Delay form Trigger Event X
- Email 4 – 21 Days Delay form Trigger Event X
- Email 5 – 28 Days Delay form Trigger Event X
Marketing Change scenario
You are happy with Emails 1–2 but want to pause sending Emails 3–5 for everyone while you re-evaluate your strategy:
- The solution is to go to the corresponding Email Template and turn the Enable this Email Template setting off – note that you’d need to repeat that for all your Emails 3–5.
Please note that if your Emails 3–5 originally used the Include past Trigger Events setting, you may want to turn that off when resuming your Drip Campaign at a later point.
OR
Emergency Brake scenario
Your Email 3 kicked off for a lot of people, it’s now running – and as you are watching them unfold under Manage > Platform Messages, you go “oh no, we have the wrong link for the big CTA button, stop the train”!
- The solution is the same – go to the corresponding Email Template and turn the Enable this Email Template setting off.
Please note that the Emergency Brake scenario will have a delay of up to an hour – the way our Email Engine optimizes for faster sending at scale, the latest ones already “in flight” you can’t stop anymore. Just like pulling the brake for a real train at top speed stops ASAP safely, but not instantly.
